MORTON - Joseph E. "Joe" Connick, 56, of Kirksville, Mo., formerly of Morton, passed away at 11 a.m. Sunday, March 27, 2016, at his home.
He was born March 23, 1960, in New Orleans, La., to James Paul Jr. and Mary Elizabeth (Adams) Connick. He married Linette McHenry on Oct. 8, 2005, in East Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Linette Connick of Kirksville, Mo.; two sons, Jay Michael (Jessica) Venable of Scott, La., and Byron Sincox of Lafayette, La.; five grandchildren, Lexi, Tatum, Ricky Jr., Hunter and Bailey; one brother, Vincent H. (Danie) Connick of Austin, Texas; three sisters, Nancy (Chris) Ritchey of Loganville, Ga., Peggy (Frank) Camalo of Lafayette, La., and Mary (Bob) Broussard of Broussard, La.; and his in-laws, Jack and Carol McHenry of Morton.
He was preceded in death by one daughter, Jillian Rivoire in 2013; his parents; one brother, Francis M. Connick, Sr.; and one sister, Elizabeth A. Connick.
Joe had worked in the oil industry along the coast of Louisiana.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in communications with the Seabees. While in the service, he was a French interpreter for the United Nations.
Joe had attended Glad Tidings Assembly of God in East Peoria and was associated with Teen Challenge Peoria. He currently attended First Assembly of God, Fellowship Baptist, and Mary Immaculate Parish, all in Kirksville.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. Further visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday, April 7, followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Greg Rosecrans officiating. Burial will be in Roberts Cemetery in Morton, where full military rites will be conducted.
