HAROLD J. CARROLL
EUREKA - Harold John "H" Carroll, 47, of Eureka, passed away and went to his eternal home on Saturday, July 9, 2016 in Knoxville, Tenn.
He was born on Nov. 11, 1968 in Peoria, Ill., to John and Barbara (Kinder) Carroll. He married Laura Wiegand on Feb. 3, 1990, in Goodfield.
Surviving are his loved ones, beloved wife, Laura Carroll, of Eureka; his precious children, Clayton "Clay", Colton, and Shelby, all at home; his parents, John and Barbara "Barb" Carroll of Congerville; two sisters, Mary (Jim) Hinrichsen and Lisa (Ben) Wiegand, both of Eureka.
He was preceeded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, and his brother-in-law, Rod White.
Harold was a 1987 graduate of Eureka High School. After finishing school, Harold was employed at DMI in Goodfield, Carroll Oil Co., then later, taking over his father's family business; becoming Carroll Auto & Tire, Inc. in 2001.
Harold's hard work, dedication, and loyalty to his business, helped him continue to bring faithful customers. And, because of this, many long-lasting friendships were made along the way. Harold worked to better his family's life, and the lives of his employees. Harold's employees were his family. He was not only their boss, but brother and father figures, a mentor, educator, and constant friend.
In addition to work, Harold enjoyed spending time with those who were most important to him, his wife and children who he adored. He proudly attended his children's athletic events, enjoyed boating, camping, golfing, and spending time outdoors with family and his friends that were so dear to his heart.
Harold didn't know a stranger. He strived to be a kind person, a man who was always willing to help, and the best father he could be. He was all of these things. Harold was a devoted husband, father and friend. He never wanted anyone to bring recognition to his kind heart; he gave without hesitation. Harold was generous and selfless. He was loved and appreciated by many, and will be greatly missed.
Jesus has a purpose, and Harold is safe in His arms.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, July 14, 2016 at the Goodfield Apostolic Christian Fellowship Hall in Goodfield. There will be a private funeral service for the family. Burial will be in Olio Township Cemetery in Eureka.
