Morton - Donald R. Dryden, 96, of Morton, formerly of Scottsburg, Ind., passed away at 5:46 a.m. on Sept. 18, 2016 at Farmington Country Manor.
He was born Jan. 10, 1920, in Deputy, Ind., to Ruben P. and Doris R. (Polk) Dryden. He married Mary Ellen Terrell on April 2, 1949, in Scottsburg, Ind.
Surviving are one daughter, Deborah (Steven) Foster of Morton; one son, Michael (Genelle) Dryden of Yates City, Ill.; four grandchildren, Jason (Casie) Foster of Woodruff, S.C., Ryan Foster of Twin Falls, Idaho, Brodie and Sydnie Dryden of Yates City; two great-grandchildren, Layla and Noah Foster of Woodruff, S.C.
He was preceded in death by one son, Danny M. Dryden in 1957; one brother, and one sister.
He was a World War II Army Veteran.
An employee of the food brokerage industry for 30 years, Donald worked as a food broker at ML Underwood in Peoria for 20 years which became Sales Force Co., where he worked for 10 years until his retirement in 1990. After retirement, he worked part-time at the Morton Auto Auction for several years.
He was a member of First Baptist Church of Morton and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Hanover, Ind.
He was a former member of American Legion Post 318 in Morton.
Visitation will be held Friday, Sept. 23, 2016 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Morton. A graveside service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 24 at Scottsburg Cemetery in Scottsburg, IN., where military rites will be conducted.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
